Grocery List:

  • Sausages or Canadian bacon
  • Frozen hash browns, or leftover cooked potatoes (diced)
  • Eggs (1 or 2 per tin foil packet)
  • Chopped tomatoes and green onions, or your favorite breakfast veggies like red bell peppers
  • Shredded cheese

You’ll also need:

  • Tin foil

How it’s done:

  1. Lay two pieces of tin foil on top of one another and spray top layer lightly with cooking spray.
  2. Lay sausages or Canadian bacon on the tin foil.
  3. Add a handful of hash browns or potatoes, 1-2 eggs, and chopped tomatoes and green onions, or any of your favorite breakfast veggies.
  4. Wrap up the ingredients in the tin foil and place on a hot grill for 15-20 minutes or until meat and eggs are thoroughly cooked.
  5. When just a few minutes of cooking time remains, open your packet and add the shredded cheese on top.
  6. Once cheese is melted, serve and enjoy.

2. Campfire Bacon

This one is less of a recipe and more of a method, but that doesn’t make it any less delicious! Once finished, you can enjoy crispy, sizzling bacon with a smoky kick, right in the heart of nature.

Grocery List:

  • 1 pack of bacon (or as much as you’d like)

You’ll also need:

  • Skewers

How it’s done:

  1. Weave the bacon strips onto skewers, folding every inch or so, with a slight gap between each fold to allow the heat to evenly pass through. Leave a few inches of space at the end of the skewer.
  2. Place two logs or rocks on each side of the campfire flames to rest the skewers, or use a cooking rack if you have one on hand.
  3. Rotate the skewers every 5 minutes to ensure even cooking. The bacon grease may cause flare-ups. If you’re worried, keep a bit of water nearby to keep the biggest flames down.
  4. Cook bacon for about 30 minutes, or until crispy and cooked through!

3. Strawberry and Nutella Sandwich

Some of us have a sweet tooth when it comes to breakfast food, and this indulgent strawberry and Nutella sandwich is sure to satisfy. Even better, this recipe is the camping equivalent of stuffed French toast, making it a huge hit with the whole family.

4. Camping Breakfast Burger

Last, but certainly not least, is an incredible camping breakfast burger. This option is a savory, satisfying, and hearty way to start your day.
