How To Build A Campfire InfographicA couple safety tips to emphasize. First, don’t transport firewood. Instead, purchase or collect it at your camping location. Transporting firewood between areas can spread invasive insects that destroy trees, like the emerald ash borer.

Second, always put out and clear the area after a campfire. You should never leave a fire to burn out. Use water to fully extinguish the fire, then scatter the ashes. And don’t forget to pack out your trash! You shouldn’t try and burn plastic, Styrofoam, and cans. It’s harmful to your health and the local habitat.
