It’s hard to believe that Easter is already here. It seems like yesterday that our resorts were celebrating Christmas and New Year’s. But now that spring has sprung, it’s time to get cracking. And what better way than with colorful Easter desserts!
These easy recipes are perfect for families. Plus, they bring spring cheer into the home, which we can all use some more of. Try them out and have fun!
Spring Easter Desserts for the Holiday
1. Carrot Patch Dirt Pudding Cups
Dirt pudding is a classic childhood favorite. But a fun twist turns the classic into one of the best Easter desserts. This recipe cleverly camouflages strawberries as carrots using orange candy melts. If you haven’t used these before, you’ll find them in the baking aisle of your favorite grocery store.

Chocolate Pudding Ingredients
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups whole milk
- 6 ounces chopped chocolate bar or semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 15 strawberries, rinsed and dried thoroughly with stems left on
- 12 ounces orange candy melts
- 10 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed to crumbs
- In a medium saucepan, combine the cornstarch, sugar, and salt.
- Whisk in the milk slowly until fully incorporated. Heat over medium-low heat for 10 minutes until the mixture thickens, whisking occasionally to break up any clumps.
- Add the chocolate and continue to stir until smooth, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and whisk in the vanilla extract. Pour mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any remaining clumps.
- Portion pudding into individual one-ounce cups, each about ¾ of the way full. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours until pudding is set.
- While the pudding sets, line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
- Place the candy melts in a bowl and microwave in 30 second intervals, mixing well between each interval, until completely smooth.
- Dip each strawberry in the candy melts as far up to the stem as you can get it.
- Place each dipped strawberry on the wax paper. Once all are dipped, drizzle more orange candy melts over top for a striped look. Refrigerate the strawberries for 5 minutes to allow the coating to set completely.
- When the pudding is set, sprinkle each cup with chocolate sandwich cookie crumbs. Place a dipped strawberry in each, submerging the strawberry about halfway down. Store in the fridge until ready to serve.
2. Bunny Munch
Most people are familiar with puppy chow. But have you heard of bunny munch? This sweet Easter dessert is a colorful spring version of the kid-friendly snack. It’s easy to make and adds a bit of fun to your Easter table!

- 5 cups rice Chex cereal
- 1 ½ cups white chocolate chips
- ¾ cups creamy peanut butter
- 8 tablespoons salted butter, cut into eight one tablespoon pieces
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups crushed or chopped Easter candy (M&Ms, malted milk balls, fun-size chocolate bars, etc), divided
- 3 cups powdered sugar, preferably 10x consistency
- Pour Chex cereal into a very large bowl.
- Line two cookie sheets with wax paper and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, melt white chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter by microwaving for 15-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until completely smooth. Once mixture is melted, stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour melted mixture over the Chex and stir the cereal and peanut butter mixture together until the cereal is fully coasted.
- Stir in 1 ¾ cups of crushed/chopped candy.
- Transfer half the mixture to a large Ziploc bag. Add half the powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake well until the cereal is completely covered.
- Pour the contents of the bag onto one of the prepared cookie sheets, spreading to cover the whole sheet.
- Repeat with remaining cereal and sugar.
- Allow the cereal to cool for at least 30 minutes. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with remaining ¼ cup crushed candy.
3. Easter Milk Truffles
Sweet and colorful, these milk truffles are an adaptation of a favorite Veneuzuelan treat. They’re easy to make and a kid-approved Easter dessert. Plus, all the ingredients are shelf stable, so you don’t have to worry about short expiration dates. And if you ask us, that’s a home run!

- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 2 cups powdered milk
- Food coloring
- Easter sprinkles
- Using a whisk or wooden spoon, mix the condensed milk and powdered milk together until well combined.
- Start adding the powdered sugar in small portions and continue mixing until the mixture is thick enough to mix by hand. Continue mixing with your hands and adding the icing sugar in portions until the dough is soft, pliable, and no longer sticking to your hands.
- Separate the dough into three portions and dye each one with food color. Blue, pink, and yellow work well, but you only need a tiny amount of food coloring to achieve a pastel effect!
- Once you’ve mixed the dye into the dough, separate it into pieces and make small balls with each, piece. Shape each one into an oval so it looks like an egg and enjoy.
