As the song goes, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!” Events are everywhere and all you want to know is which ones you should attend. To help you out, we’ve rounded up our favorite holiday events from around the U.S., all within convenient distance of a Sun RV resort. Sit back, relax, and find the perfect way to celebrate this holiday season!

 

South

Epcot International Festival of the Holidays – Orlando, FL

From around mid-November till the end of December, Epcot’s International Festival of the Holidays celebrates the traditions of 11 World Showcase Nations. The highlight of the event is the Candlelight Processional, a musical telling of the holiday story with a 50-piece orchestra and full choir. Savor tastes of the season at restaurants and witness IllumiNations, a one-of-a-kind light, water, and fireworks show that takes place every night after dark. Travel just half an hour north to Epcot from Kissimmee South RV Resort or Mill Creek RV Resort.

Edison and Ford Holiday Events – Fort Myers, FL

The holidays are a cherished time in Fort Myers, where the Edison and Ford Winter Estates are bedecked with thousands of lights and decorations throughout the homes and gardens. From late November through December (except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), nightly guided tours are available and special events often take place, such as visits from Santa and the chance to write holiday postcards for active-duty military personnel. The magic is never far from our Fort Myers resorts including Indian Creek, Siesta Bay and Groves RV resorts!

Wassailfest – New Braunfels

Spend the holidays halfway between Austin and San Antonio, just 10 minutes away from Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort in New Braunfels! This charming city is hosting the 25th Annual Wassailfest, an event celebrating the traditional spiced Christmas drink. As you roam the downtown area, you can soak up the sounds of live music, the sights of twinkling lights, and the smells of delicious food and free wassail samples. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite in the People’s Choice awards!

SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration – San Antonio

Witness Texas’ largest display of Christmas lights at SeaWorld San Antonio! This extraordinary celebration runs from mid-November to early January and features 250 acres of Christmas lights. Children can pose for photos with Rudolph and families can purchase tickets for a dinner with Santa and Mrs. Claus. And, of course, the park’s aquatic inhabitants will be presenting plenty of holiday shows including Shamu Christmas and Clyde & Seamore’s Countdown. All of this and more is less than 10 minutes away from Blazing Star RV Resort!

Magical Winter Lights – Dallas

One of the biggest events in the Metroplex, Magical Winter Lights is an essential holiday experience in Dallas-Fort Worth. From mid-November through early January, you can explore a festival of lights, an expansive carnival, a diverse variety of live music, visits with Santa, an array of options at the food court, and acrobatic shows that blend Chinese tradition with the holiday spirit.

Enchant Christmas – Arlington

Prepare for a Christmas experience like no other. Enchant Christmas is an annual event in Arlington that will dazzle and restore faith in the magic of the holidays. Wind your way through the world’s largest light maze, glide along the ice skating pond, visit Santa in his golden palace, and enjoy over 100 food trucks and vendors serving up seasonal items. All the action takes place at Globe Life Park in the heart of Arlington’s sports district, just 20 minutes north of Treetops RV Resort!

Christmas at Hearst Castle – Central California

Celebrate Christmas at California’s most elegant estate, just an hour west of Vines and Wine Country RV Resort in Paso Robles. Hearst Castle transforms into a holiday wonderland during the Christmas season, featuring stunning outdoor wreaths and towering trees decorated with dazzling decorations. Tours are available throughout December for guests interested in traveling back to a 1920s Christmas celebration. Don’t forget to bring your camera!

Santa Claus, IN

Santa Claus Christmas Celebration

The town of Santa Claus, Indiana has garnered widespread acclaim for its Christmas Celebration, even earning a spot in CNN’s list of the 15 Best Christmas Destinations. With a myriad of activities available, you can create your ideal trip. Feast on Christmas Dinner at Santa’s Lodge or browse through the endless aisles of holiday gifts at the Santa Claus Christmas Store. You can even enjoy the intoxicating scent of chestnuts roasting over an open fire at Santa’s Candy Castle. As a special experience, children can write letters to Santa at the Santa Claus Museum and Village, while parents can volunteer at the Santa Claus Post Office to write responses to children across the country. Santa Claus Land of Lights

Discover the story of Christmas from the comfort of your car! Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort is proud to offer Santa Claus Land of Lights, a 1.2-mile long outdoor light show that recounts the Christmas story through LED lights and storyboards. This experience is available on weekends starting the day after Thanksgiving through mid-December. After that you can experience the light show for yourself any night of the week time through the end of the month.
