Visit Illinois

With a famed city like Chicago, many visitors tend to miss the hidden gems that lie beyond its borders. In the south, between the Mississippi and Ohio rivers, lies the Shawnee National Forest. There, visitors can explore the rich wooded terrain, freshwater lakes, wildlife and the ancient sandstone cliffs of The Garden of the Gods wilderness park. To the north, head to Springfield and the tomb of Abraham Lincoln. Then, located just 15 miles from our Illinois RV resort in Hillsdale, visitors can travel to the Quad Cities. There they can enjoy an endless variety of exciting local attractions along the mighty Mississippi River; like hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, biking, riverboat and gambling cruises, to a variety of local wineries, microbreweries and annual festivals. Golfers will love TPC Deere Run championship course in Silvis, which hosts the PGA tour’s annual John Deere Classic tournament. Of course you'll still want to visit Chicago. Located just three hours west of Hillsdale, you won't want to miss out on a trip to the Windy City.
